A few months ago, I sort of accidentally joined a Facebook group “for busy moms,” but the catch was “Trader Joe’s meal ideas…” So, here we are.
One of my go-to items to pick up when grocery shopping are the Almond Croissants, which come in a pack of 4 for $4.49. They have this yummy, cinnamon-y center and flaky outer layer. Now, I have tried the chocolate ones, but they’re a little too sweet for my personal liking.
Below is the original post I saw in the group of someone who turned them into a pull-apart pie. She had sliced each of the 4 croissants into 4 mini pieces (a total of 16 pieces), arranged them in a pie/tart pan, and brushed lightly with egg wash before baking.
I decided to bake mine “normally,” which is to place the frozen croissants on a pan overnight (6-7 hours) so that they rise and become nice and puffy.
Per the instructions, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and allow them to bake for about 20 minutes. Once nice and golden-brown, take them out and allow to cool for about 5-ish minutes.
Sometimes I eat my croissants with fruit, but I had never plated it similar to the recipe I saw in the online group. I literally always have blueberries in my fridge or freezer, but I also bought raspberries and blackberries this time, and a bag of powdered sugar (all from TJ’s). I topped the croissants and… bon appetit!
