I offer beginner sessions of Tantra Yoga for individuals and small groups. My focus, with this form of dynamic engagement, is to assist in your slow, personal surrender and reconnection with your body and soul in an affirming way; with the goal of facilitating union with your physical, energetic, mental, wisdom and bliss bodies. This somatic (mind-body) practice weaves together asanas (poses), pranayama (breath work), guided meditation, mudras, affirmations/mantras and intention setting.

This spiritually-oriented relaxation practice promotes:

mindfulness * self-trust * confidence/personal empowerment * better sleep * stress reduction *gratitude *empathy * mental clarity * interconnectedness/intimacy * moksha (salvation)

Skukura’s Yoga Lineage

Kemetic Yoga was first introduced to me by my mother, during childhood. We would practice with Sister Karina. Though I had an awareness of this practice, it was not until my late 20s that yoga became a regular tool that I used to facilitate healing and well-being in my life. In 2018, I began taking classes through YogaRoots on Location, which taught from an embodied anti-racism and community organizing lens, and specialized in Raja Yoga. Led by Felicia Savage-Friedman E-RYT 500, this was also the first training program that I began, in 2019. As the Covid pandemic started in 2020, and things shifted in my life, I then attempted to complete a Hatha Yoga training program led by Michelle Young, M.Ed, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500 of My Vinyasa Practice. I completed this training but ultimately decided not to submit a practicum for this certification because I did not feel fully in alignment as a “Hatha Yoga Instructor.” As I continued my journey of self-actualization, I became enlivened as I learned more about tantra philosophy. Tantra Yoga is the knowledge concerning truth and aims to bring purity, devotion, humility and love into our lives. Eventually, by January 2023, I completed and received my RYT-200 Tantra Yoga certification through a training program facilitated by Ana Pilar Cruz C-IAYT, E-RYT 500. Currently, I am continuing my education by engaging in the Yoga Class Curator leadership program, taught by Susanna Barkataki C-IAYT, E-RYT 500. I am grateful for all each teacher has offered me in this process of becoming.
